POTASSIUM

From Mineral resources

As with most mineral resources, Africa is also blessed with ubiquitous reserves of a natural potassium (Elemental symbol = “K”) source in the form of Potash-rich mineral deposits. Ethiopia, well known on the East for such enrichment, is set to become the largest exporter of Potash in the COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) states. Eritrea and Botswana both have known deposits and on the West Coast of Africa substantial resources have been discovered in Republic of Congo (i.e. Congo Brazzaville) and neighbouring Gabon.

OUR POTASH PROGRESS

In July of 2017, AAX and African Potash Limited announced a Joint Venture Agreement (see Stock Exchange announcement on http://www.africanpotash.com/News.aspx?ArticleId=1637111 )  whereby AAX shall be responsible for the development of the Lac Dinga Potash prospect in the eastern zone of the Congo Potash Basin.

This announcement marks the next significant step in the development of AAX’s stated Pan-African vision, establishing a foundation of string raw material assets that can give rise to a continental industry whose time has come.  This project incorporates the licence most prospective of any in the basin for high-grade mineralisation, being as it is on the eastern margin of the paleo-marine basin (the western margin is way offshore and under water).  Zones proximal to shorelines typically have the greatest concentration of potassium in the potash and halite mix. Targeting has commenced and a drill programme to establish a significant resource is in the final planning stages.

More news on this to follow.

An East African Potash Resource is also being sought.
